The Rector explained that the first phase would involve two departments which he said include Mass Communication for the degree programme.
Itiola stated this while defending the 2017 budget proposal of the institution before the House of Assembly committee on finance and appropriation.
He also said the N40million would cover the expenses of the registration with National Universities Commission (NUC) and the resource evaluation visit by the commission.
He however, said, the institution has prepared to receive the officials of National Board of Technical Education for the re-accreditation of Mass Communication in the institution.
While defending the budget of the polytechnic before the house, the Rector said a total expenditure of N2.6billion which include
the recurrent which would gulp N2billion while the capital expenditure would take N600million.
He further explained that the overhead and the personnel cost would take N400million and N1.6billion respectively.
The Rector also disclosed that the institution plans to spend N2million naira on rehabilitation and repairs of street light across the school campus.
Itiola added that the thinking by management of the institution of replacing as well as illuminating the campus environment is in order to prevent un-wholesome activities that would have taken place under dark environment.
Meanwhile, the Chairman Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Governing Council, Chief. Alaba Lawson and other members of the council have been proposed to get N35million sitting allowance in 2017 fiscal year.
According to the proposed 2017 budget estimate, Alaba Lawson, other members of the council and secretariat staff would get N35million for next year.
This was sighted during the defence of 2017 proposed budget estimate at the committee on finance and appropriation at Ogun state House of Assembly.
It was gathered that the honorarium and sitting allowance in which N2.9million would be spent on monthly basis for allowances on the members for statutory meeting and others.
