Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP), MAPOLY has declared an
indefinite strike following the alleged directive by Chairman, Technical
Committee, Prof. Peter Okebukola for the sack of over 250 academic
staff of the institution.
Chairman of ASUP MAPOLY chapter, Kola Abiola who announced the decision of the union around 11:17a.m. on Tuesday also ordered the removal of former National Universities Commission (NUC), Okebukola and Dr Ebenezer Nkom.
Abiola also called on the Governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun to replace them with capable hands. Okebukola was said to have notified every staff of the institution to tender a resignation letter with a view to re-apply as a fresh staff of Moshood Abiola University of Science and Technology. This directive however did not go down well with members of MAPOLY ASUP.
