OGUN STATE POLYTECHNIC, IPOKIA TO BE READY IN TWO WEEKS

As the crisis rocking the transformation of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta continues unabated, the government of Ogun state has rekindled the hope of admission seekers into the state polytechnic as it promised to make available a temporary site in Ipokia in two weeks.


The promise was made known by the deputy governor of the state, Chief Mrs. Yetunde Onanuga on Tuesday, November 7, as she inspected ongoing construction on the new site as well as the proposed temporary site, both in Ipokia. Mrs Onanuga led the task force committee on project monitoring to the project site. 

She disclosed that as work was ongoing on the new site, so it was on the temporary location, which is a secondary school ground and that workers have been mobilized to fast track every aspects of the construction. Her words, "I have gone to the (temporary) site, grading is ongoing and we are going to start building classrooms where the students can start having their lectures temporarily, until the main campus is completed." 

"All contractors will be working simultaneously to ensure that all facilities are put in place." Although, It is unknown if the temporary site is up to a polytechnic standard as the Nigerian Board of Technical Education (NBTE) .

Onanuga said that NBTE would assess the facilities on the temporary site after the two weeks of
construction. She said, "In another two weeks, those classrooms will be ready for NBTE to come and see." Mrs Onanuga also promised that the Ogun state polytechnic, Ipokia would have staff quarters and hostels when it is the completed.
