REPORTS ON THE STUDENTS' LEADERS VISITATION TO OGUN POLYTECHNIC, IPOKIA

Solidarity greetings to all patient and progressive minded students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta.
As part of the innumerable consultations embarked upon by the students' leaders of MAPOLY on the issue pivoting round our polytechnic, which have unfortunately affected all students and caused a damage to our academic and career pursuit, a visitation was paid to the newly established polytechnic at ipokia yesterday, 30th November, 2017.

This visitation occurred as a penultimate observation of the site by the students leaders of MAPOLY before the arrival of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) by next week Monday as communicated by the Ogun state Government.

After undergoing unfavourable and inflicting journey via the devastated roads to the established polytechnic at a very primitive location, we realised that a lot of works are still needed to be done as per the development of the new polytechnic at Ipokia.

On our arrival, we discovered the main entrance of the polytechnic is still under construction as workers were there present. We were directed to the main take off point of the polytechnic where some security men (Nigerian Police Officers) made attempts to harass and oppress us by stampeding our inspection. We were told not to inspect, but as cultured and diplomatic students' leaders, we were able to express our intentions and our mission was implemented and achieved.

However, we discovered the take off point has just four (4) uncompleted lecture halls that would still take months before completion, the rector's lodge and administrative blocks are still unachieved yet.

With a verisimilitude discovery, we gathered that the inspection and accreditation of NBTE come on Monday will only be achieved by "undue, compromised, illegal and governmental influences". As all works done at the site are not standardized enough for a "legit accreditation".

Although, the Ogun state Property and lnvestment Corporation (OPIC) officials were fully available to accelerate, moderate and assure the completion of the take off arena, but we are authoritatively skeptical about the completion and provision of necessary amenities for the instigation of the polytechnic.

It is against the students' leaders backdrop, as some of our comrades were threatened and harassed all because of our mission to uncover the state of activities at the said polytechnic.

We therefore call on the state government to re-orientate all securities agency at the site not to see the newly established polytechnic as their father abode but as a public entity available for inspection to every concerned and affected members of the state.

In furtherance, we urge all students of the polytechnic to remain law abiding as we await the arrival of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) next week Monday before the next line of action could be ascertained by the students leaders' of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta.

Conclusively, we promise all students of the institution to keep throwing their supports behind us and keep trusting in our consultative initiatives, as all hands are on desk to ensure effective resolutions from our part.

God bless all Nigerian Students!
God bless MAPOLY!!
God bless Ogun State!!!

Aluta Continua, Victoria Ascerta!!!

Signed:

STUDENTS' LEADERS
Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta.
